A Lonesome Winter Stroll

As the sun lowers in the sky, The Winter Queen strolls along the icy paths of her Kingdom. Her feet crunch upon the fallen snow as she listens wistfully to the song of the winter birds while dreaming of a prince. She wonders sadly to herself, if her icy heart will ever know what it’s like to love. Realizing she’s late for her own ball, she hurries back to her palace.

An Icy Wind

As she enters the foyer, she sheds her mantle and hands it to her faithful servant. She’s informed that most of her guests have arrived and are in the great hall enjoying the festivities. Wrapping herself in her silk stole, she turns to ascend the stairs. But as she does, the wind gusts through the still open doors, tugging at her satin wrap with its icy fingers.

 A Melted Heart

The wrap attempts to take flight as it flaps wildly in the wind. As she desperately clutches the fabric, she hears a gasp and turns to see who made the sound. To her surprise, it’s her prince from the dream, standing at the foot of the stairs gazing at her in awe! One glance into his admiring eyes and her icy heart melts. She steps forward and graciously offers a hand in greeting. When his warmth touches hers, she sighs happily knowing that this will be a Christmas Ball to remember.
